Alabama defensive lineman Jehiem Oatis is emerging as a veteran presence for the Crimson Tide as a true junior, bringing 25 games of experience to the table.
Returning to Tuscaloosa, Oatis is anticipated to play a key role in Alabama’s defense this season. In 2023, he recorded 26 tackles, two pass breakups, and two quarterback hurries over 13 games, including three starts.
Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 325 pounds, Oatis enters his junior year with high expectations for himself and the Alabama defensive line.
“This D-Line, with more work, we’re gonna go crazy this year,” Oatis remarked. “We’re putting in the work both on and off the field, pushing each other to get better.”
Oatis also shared his confidence about what he and his defensive line can showcase in Alabama’s season opener.
“When we hit the field for the first game, we’ll show that we’re locked in, competitive, and ready to prove we can handle any situation,” said Oatis.
Alabama will kick off the season against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at home in Bryant-Denny Stadium on August 31.
