Alabama’s five-star quarterback commit, Keelon Russell, already feels like he’s QB1 whenever he connects with the Crimson Tide coaching staff.
Recently, Russell appeared on *The Momentum Podcast* on YouTube, where he reflected on his decision to commit to Alabama and shared insights into his interactions with the coaching staff.
“When I first talked to Coach DeBoer and saw what he did with Penix at Washington, along with Nick Sheridan, the offensive coordinator,” Russell explained, “I knew these guys could develop me into an exceptional quarterback. I believe they represent the highest level of coaching, and I’ll fit in great with this program.”
Russell continued, sharing how easy and natural the communication is between him and Coach Sheridan when they review film, saying, “It’s like I’m already QB1. Talking with them makes me feel like I’m ready to step in. That’s how it feels when I’m on the phone with them.”
Currently, Russell is focused on leading Duncanville High School toward another state championship.
