The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed Him a hybrid tight end and fullback from South Alabama, as an undrafted free agent, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

He will fill the Steelers’ fullback spot for now, after the team came up short in free agency. They had targeted All-Pro Kyle Juszczyk following his release, but he ultimately re-signed with the San Francisco 49ers.

At his pro day, He measured 6-foot-1 and 250 pounds, and clocked a 4.63-second 40-yard dash. With MyCole Pruitt still unsigned, Thomas-Jones will step into that role and battle with Connor Heyward and Donald Parham for a spot at the bottom of the roster.

In 2024, He recorded 22 catches for 191 yards and three touchdowns, highlighted by a five-catch, 59-yard performance against Texas State.

He started his college career at Ole Miss before transferring to South Alabama, where he became the starting tight end and took on fullback duties beginning in his sophomore year.

A Mobile native, Thomas-Jones returned home to play for South Alabama. He posted over 200 receiving yards in both his sophomore and junior seasons, although his production dropped off during his senior year.
