The future of Matthew Stafford with the Los Angeles Rams remains uncertain as speculation continues to swirl about a potential trade.
Reports suggest that Stafford is unhappy and has even been granted permission by the Rams to explore trade options through his agent. Despite being 37 years old, Stafford remains an effective quarterback, but he is reportedly seeking a new contract worth over $50 million per year, according to Peter Schrager.

In 2024, Stafford threw for 3,762 yards and 20 touchdowns, respectable numbers but not necessarily in line with what the league’s highest-paid quarterbacks earn. Given his age, there is concern that his production could decline significantly in the near future. If he insists on a massive contract, the Rams may be better off moving on.

Thanks to strong drafting in recent years, the Rams have won 10 games and made the playoffs in back-to-back seasons. This has given them flexibility to consider their future at quarterback, and rumors have surfaced about Aaron Rodgers being open to joining the team if Stafford departs.
If Rodgers were to land in Los Angeles, he could potentially reunite with Davante Adams, the six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver with whom he shared tremendous success in Green Bay. This scenario remains speculative, but given the Rams’ uncertain quarterback situation, it’s a storyline worth monitoring.
