The Phillies recently signed relievers to minor league contracts, as reflected in the team’s transaction log on MLB.com and the players’ social media accounts.

Both pitchers saw limited MLB action in 2024. Crismatt, who just turned 30, made five early-season appearances for the Dodgers before spending the rest of the year in Triple-A.

He pitched across three organizations—Los Angeles, San Diego, and Texas—in the Pacific Coast League, where he struggled with a 5.81 ERA over 79 innings. He posted a slightly below-average 20.7% strikeout rate and a solid 7.5% walk rate.

While Crismatt has had difficulty over six Triple-A seasons, his MLB performance has been stronger, with a 3.71 ERA across parts of five seasons, including a standout stretch with San Diego in 2021-22. Over the past two seasons, however, he has pitched just 20 innings at the big-league level.

Zuñiga, 26, debuted in 2023 with two appearances for the Cardinals before being traded to the Angels for cash in February. He made 15 appearances with the Angels in 2024, pitching 17 2/3 innings with a 5.19 ERA, 12 strikeouts, and eight walks.

He also logged 26 Triple-A innings, where his strikeout rate dipped to a career-low 14.3%.

This decline was surprising given his track record of striking out over 25% of batters faced in 2023 and often nearing 30% in the lower minors. Despite the struggles, Zuñiga showcased impressive velocity, averaging 97 MPH on his fastball this year and nearly 99 MPH during his brief MLB stint with St. Louis in 2023.
