NC State basketball could secure its second 2025 recruit within a week.
Homewood-Flossmoor High School’s rising senior Bryce Heard visited the NC State basketball program officially in late June. Now, a few weeks later, the 6-foot-5, 190-pound wing is ready to announce his college decision. Heard, a sharpshooting four-star ranked No. 89 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, received nearly two dozen offers during his recruitment. On Tuesday, he told League Ready that he has narrowed his choices down to four finalists: NC State, Xavier, Mississippi State, and Southern Cal. He plans to announce his decision next Wednesday.

In May, Heard had expressed interest in visiting several schools during the summer and fall. However, it seems his visit to Raleigh convinced the 17-year-old that he has enough information to make his decision. This visit to NC State was his only official visit.

Meanwhile, NC State’s head coach Kevin Keatts and his team already have one 2025 commitment from four-star guard Ricardo Greer Jr. from Archbishop Alter High School (Ohio), who ranks No. 161 overall and committed to the Wolfpack a week before Heard’s visit in June.
