The Miami Hurricanes have landed a key piece for their 2025 men’s basketball recruiting class with the commitment of four-star guard.
Ranked No. 42 nationally by ESPN and No. 63 in the On3 Industry Ranking, His pledge marks a major milestone for new head coach Jai Lucas as he builds his first class in Coral Gables.
Allen, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound guard with a 6’7 wingspan out of Montverde Academy (FL), originally committed to Villanova in October 2024. However, he reopened his recruitment in March 2025 after Villanova parted ways with head coach Kyle Neptune.
In his senior season, Allen posted strong numbers—averaging 11.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game—while shooting 48% from the field and 37% from beyond the arc.

He is the son of Miami Heat assistant coach Malik Allen and played for the Nightrydas Elite AAU program, which was coached by Andrew Moran—now part of Lucas’s staff at Miami. These connections likely influenced Allen’s decision to join the Hurricanes. His commitment is a big recruiting win for Lucas, who earned a reputation as a top recruiter during his time at Kentucky and Duke.

Scouting evaluations describe Allen as a tough, physical guard with a versatile skill set and a long frame, capable of operating both on and off the ball. While still refining his offensive playmaking, he brings strong defensive instincts and the ability to affect games on both ends.
Miami’s recruiting momentum continues to build, with expectations for more additions to the 2025 class. The Hurricanes have also been active in the transfer portal, recently adding Michigan’s Tre Donaldson, New Mexico’s Tru Washington, TCU’s Ernest Udeh Jr., and Indiana’s Malik Reneau.
