Seattle Mariners pitcher Bryce Miller and outfielder Victor Robles are both making progress in their recoveries from injury.
General Manager Justin Hollander provided updates on the players Tuesday, ahead of the team’s series opener against the Chicago White Sox.

Miller (2-5), who has been sidelined with inflammation in his right elbow, is set to make a second rehab start on Thursday with Triple-A Tacoma. According to Hollander, Miller will likely need one more rehab outing before returning to the big leagues.
“No matter how much Bryce begs for that to be the last one,” Hollander joked. “His stuff looked elite. He told me that was the best he’s felt—even better than at the start of spring training.”

Robles, who has been out since April after dislocating his left shoulder while making a play in the outfield, is on track to begin a rehab assignment on August 12. He’s hitting .273 with three RBIs over 44 at-bats this season.
“The first few days will be DH appearances, mixed in with some time in the outfield,” Hollander said. “It’s basically like starting spring training all over again.”

Infielder Ryan Bliss is eyeing a September rehab assignment, while utility player Luke Raley—placed on the 10-day injured list on July 27—has begun hitting progression drills and could rejoin the team as soon as this weekend’s series against Tampa Bay.
Hollander also confirmed that reliever Trent Thornton recently underwent successful surgery to repair an Achilles injury and faces a recovery timeline of six to eight months.
