Seattle Mariners right fielder Victor Robles is expected to be sidelined for about 12 weeks following an injury sustained during a highlight-worthy catch in Sunday’s game against the San Francisco Giants, the team announced on Tuesday.
An MRI conducted Monday confirmed that Robles dislocated his left shoulder, resulting in a small fracture in the humeral head. Although surgery is not currently planned, the team will closely monitor his recovery.
If Robles avoids surgery, the fracture is expected to heal in roughly six weeks, with an additional six weeks of rehabilitation to follow, according to the Mariners.

The injury occurred when Robles made a dramatic catch, crashing into the netting in foul territory in right field with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning at Oracle Park. He was carted off the field shortly afterward.
The setback is a major blow for both Robles and the Mariners. The speedy right-hander had revitalized his career in Seattle after being released by the Washington Nationals early last season. Since joining the Mariners in early June, he posted a .328 batting average with an .860 OPS, adding 20 doubles, four home runs, and 30 stolen bases.
His impressive performance earned him a two-year extension last August, along with the starting right fielder and leadoff roles for 2025.
This season, Robles is batting .273 through 10 games, with a .624 OPS, three doubles, and three stolen bases.
The Mariners resume action Tuesday night against the Houston Astros. Coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. on Seattle Sports 710 AM and the Seattle Sports app, with first pitch set for 6:40 p.m. Right-hander Luis Castillo will start for Seattle, opposing Astros lefty Framber Valdez.
