The Green Bay Packers could explore the NFC West for a true WR1 to support quarterback Jordan Love in their pursuit of a deep playoff run next season.
FanSided’s Freddie Boston proposed a trade scenario where Green Bay acquires DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for Romeo Doubs and a fourth-round pick. This move would provide the Packers with a dynamic offensive weapon while helping Seattle navigate its challenging salary cap situation.

“Seattle must address a significant salary-cap issue before the new league year begins. According to Over The Cap, the team needs to clear $27.5 million to break even,” Boston wrote in his column on Saturday. “Trading or releasing Metcalf, who has only one year left on his contract, would free up nearly $11 million.”
For Green Bay, the trade would bring in a game-changing receiver, giving Love a reliable top target and adding another vertical threat to complement Christian Watson, who missed much of the season due to injury.
Should the Green Bay Packers go after DK Metcalf?
DK Metcalf is coming off another solid season with the Seattle Seahawks, recording 66 receptions for 992 yards and five touchdowns over 15 games.

Having turned 27 last December, he is entering the prime of his career. Metcalf is set to play the final year of his three-year, $72 million contract in 2025.
If the Green Bay Packers were to trade for him and make a deep playoff run, they might have a strong case to convince him to sign a long-term extension.
