The Las Vegas Raiders are in urgent need of a long-term quarterback, and it’s clear that neither Gardner Minshew nor Aidan O’Connell fits the bill.
Raiders owner Mark Davis acknowledged this when Tom Brady was recently announced as a minority owner. “Although Tom can’t play, he can help us identify a QB for the future,” Davis noted.
Having insights from the greatest quarterback in NFL history could certainly help the Raiders assess their options moving forward.
In Pro Football Focus’s latest NFL Mock Draft, the Raiders are projected to pick Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe with the No. 7 overall pick, aiming to secure their future at the position.
“Milroe may be the biggest swing for the fences, offering a game-changing dual-threat ability and a powerful arm,” PFF analyst Trevor Sikkema wrote.

“On top of that, he’s shown improved touch and accuracy in 2024. This season, Milroe has passed for 1,937 yards and 13 touchdowns, while also rushing for 380 yards and 12 touchdowns.”
Milroe’s elite athleticism and deep-ball talent are evident on film, though he still needs to work on his consistency in reading defenses and throwing with anticipation.
Could Milroe be the Raiders’ future at quarterback? Time will tell, but Raiders fans should watch next week as Alabama faces LSU in a high-stakes SEC showdown.
