The Cowboys and Chargers could potentially swoop in and acquire Titans wide receiver as a trade candidate this season. With each passing week, it’s becoming more likely that Tennessee will part with key players, including Him, following another defeat.
Tennessee’s offense continues to struggle under quarterback Will Levis, but the team isn’t planning to bench him despite their 1-4 record. At 32, He is nearing the end of his prime, but with the right team, he could still return to being one of the league’s top receivers.
Having recorded 14 receptions for 175 yards and a touchdown, He could significantly strengthen a team aiming for a deep postseason run. Reports have connected him to contenders like the Packers and Lions, both of whom have the talent to make a playoff push.
While He is getting older, the timing might be ideal for a trade, with teams looking to add firepower for a playoff run and potentially letting him test free agency in 2025. Teams like the Cowboys and Chargers, who are struggling at receiver, should also consider pursuing Him to bolster their offense.
Cowboys, Chargers May Steal Titans Trade Candidate DeAndre Hopkins
Superstar Life Support
The Cowboys are struggling with one of the worst offenses in recent memory, even after extending CeeDee Lamb this season. Their offense has become too predictable, making it easy for aggressive defenses like the Lions to anticipate Dak Prescott’s preferred targets. This led to Detroit dominating them at home, as Dallas failed to gain any momentum in the passing game. Jalen Tolbert is still developing in a full-time role, so it’s questionable why he’s getting most of the touches.

With Brandin Cooks sidelined due to injury, Dallas doesn’t have many options. Jerry Jones continues to hold the team back, and it’s unlikely the roster will improve. A trade for DeAndre Hopkins could be the solution to give Lamb some help, as otherwise, Lamb will likely face constant double coverage. Hopkins is experienced in adapting to new teams and could quickly fit in to create more separation for Lamb in the passing game.
Emergency Help for Justin Herbert
The Chargers managed an ugly win after losing Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston, and head coach Jim Harbaugh in a single game. Fortunately, both Johnston and Harbaugh returned, but questions remain about the team’s ability to improve Justin Herbert’s passing game. Herbert can’t excel without a reliable receiver besides McConkey, though a potential trade for DeAndre Hopkins could be a decent solution. The passing attack has struggled so much that Herbert had to rely on running back Kimani Vidal for a touchdown pass.
With no playoff-experienced receivers, Hopkins could easily step in as their new No. 1 target. While he may not be the player he once was, he’d still be an upgrade over the replacements Harbaugh brought in for Mike Williams and Keenan Allen.
Other Potential Trade Destinations
Kansas City Chiefs
In 2023, the Chiefs were interested in acquiring DeAndre Hopkins, but now they might finally get their chance this year. Kansas City entered the offseason with Marquise Brown, Rashee Rice, and rookie Xavier Worthy as part of their lineup. However, after losing both Brown and Rice, they are now depending on Worthy and a few backup players like JuJu Smith-Schuster, Mecole Hardman, and Skyy Moore. Patrick Mahomes hasn’t quite been himself, but a trade for Hopkins could easily boost his performance.
New Orleans Saints
Spencer Rattler had been on a roll, but the offense lost steam and couldn’t recover after a near blowout against Tampa Bay. Although Rattler wasn’t at fault, it’s clear he needs a stronger supporting cast of receivers. Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed are solid options, but they bring championship experience that can help Rattler develop. Dennis Allen needs to realize this isn’t Derek Carr’s team anymore. Trading for a seasoned veteran like DeAndre Hopkins could be the key to strengthening the receiving group.
