The Tennessee Titans have kept their strategy for the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft under wraps with the arrival of a new front office. While rumors have circulated about their interest in Cam Ward or potentially trading down, there’s now talk of another possible move for draft day.

The Titans are publicly keeping their options open, hinting that they could bypass Ward to select either edge rusher Abdul Carter or two-way player Travis Hunter. It’s clear that general manager Mike Borgonzi is considering trading down, aiming to acquire multiple first-round picks while remaining within the top four of the 2025 draft.

However, the prevailing opinion across the league is that Ward will be the first pick and become the Titans’ starting quarterback in 2025. This aligns with speculation that Tennessee might trade quarterback Will Levis. On a recent episode of the Inside Coverage podcast, senior reporter Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports discussed Levis’s future in Tennessee and the likelihood of a parting of ways with head coach Brian Callahan.

“There are reports coming from within the franchise that Callahan and Will Levis are unlikely to continue working together. It seems that Levis won’t have an opportunity to become the starting quarterback for the Titans. Other NFL teams believe that Levis could be available either leading up to the draft or during it.”

Will Levis’ stats (ESPN): 2,091 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, 27.8 ESPN QBR, 63.1% completion rate.

What makes Travis Hunter special as a WR and CB?

Levis, selected 33rd overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, has only had one season with Callahan. However, Tennessee’s head coach was openly critical of Levis in press conferences, frequently criticizing his second-year quarterback.

In Callahan’s defense, Levis showed no progress in his sophomore season. His interception rate jumped from 1.6% to 4%, and his yards per attempt decreased from 7.1 to 6.9. With Ward potentially joining the team soon, Levis could be traded for a Day 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
