Veteran right-hander Corbin Burnes is widely regarded as the top starting pitcher on this offseason’s free-agent market—at least until Roki Sasaki becomes available. Unsurprisingly, Burnes is attracting significant interest, and the San Francisco Giants are now among his suitors.

According to Mark Feinsand, the Giants and their first-year lead executive Buster Posey reportedly have “significant interest” in Burnes following Blake Snell’s move to the Dodgers.

At 30, Burnes is coming off another stellar season in 2024. While pitching for the Orioles, he posted a 2.92 ERA, a 128 ERA+, and a 3.55 FIP over 194 1/3 innings. His performance earned him a fourth consecutive All-Star selection and his fifth straight top-10 finish in Cy Young voting.

Over his career, Burnes has a 129 ERA+ and a WAR of 17.0 across seven MLB seasons. Notably, he captured the NL Cy Young Award in 2021 as a member of the Brewers.
