The Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders are set to face off in the NFC Championship Game this Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.

In the Divisional Round last week, the Eagles defended their home field with a 28-22 victory over the Los Angeles Rams. They achieved this win despite losing rookie cornerback Quinyon Mitchell early in the first quarter due to a shoulder injury.

Eagles News: Quinyon Mitchell Will Play On Sunday

Getting Mitchell back on the field will be a significant boost for the Eagles’ secondary. The Toledo alum was outstanding for Philadelphia, tallying 46 total tackles and 12 pass deflections. According to PFF, he earned a 73.1 overall grade, a 74 coverage grade, and allowed an 87 passer rating in coverage.

In two games against the Commanders this season, Mitchell allowed just three receptions for 47 yards. His presence will be crucial as the Eagles prepare to face a potent Washington offense. So far in the playoffs, the Commanders have surpassed 260 passing yards in both games.

That offense is powered by rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury. Daniels has been impressive in the postseason, completing 69% of his passes for 567 yards and four touchdowns. In Week 16 against the Eagles, the LSU standout threw for 258 yards and a career-best five passing touchdowns.

The Eagles will aim to slow down Daniels and this explosive offense. Mitchell’s return gives Philadelphia a key advantage, especially for a secondary that led the NFL in pass defense during the regular season (174.2 yards per game).
