The Dolphins’ signal caller mishandled the ball, resulting in a safety during their loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
Every play that Tua Tagovailoa takes for the rest of the 2024 season will be scrutinized closely. This includes every handoff, pass, scramble, and especially instances when he chooses to run the ball.
Tagovailoa made his return to the field this week after a month-long absence due to his third concussion in five seasons. His decision to not wear a concussion guardian cap sparked discussions about his safety, and many fans were anxious watching him play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

The Dolphins lost the game 28-27, leading to speculation about the viability of their season despite Tagovailoa’s return.
During a media session today, Tagovailoa responded to a question that seemed to probe his recent concussion at the start of the season.
The question was prompted by a play where Tagovailoa fumbled a snap, resulting in a critical safety during the game.
“I’d like to see a lot of other people go back there and try to catch that ball too… It’s not as easy as it looked sitting on your couch eating chips,” Tagovailoa remarked when asked about the fumble.
He acknowledged his part in the play but also mentioned that the snap from Aaron Brewer wasn’t his best. He admitted fault for another fumble that happened during the game as well.
“The under-center one? That was just my fault, that was just my fault,” Tagovailoa said.
Expectations for the Dolphins for the rest of the 2024 season are low. Although they played well on Sunday, it wasn’t enough to secure a victory. They remain cautious regarding Tagovailoa’s health, raising questions about their competitive ambitions.
However, the media noted that if Tagovailoa is willing to push back during a press conference, it may indicate a strong competitive spirit still burns within him despite the serious injury he faced earlier this season.
