The Indianapolis Colts are set for a challenging matchup against the Buffalo Bills in Week 10, which just got a bit harder. Head coach Shane Steichen announced that wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. is out for the game due to back and finger injuries.
As the Colts head into a crucial part of their season, they need to start stringing together wins, and a loss to the Bills would drop them to 4-6. Losing Pittman, a two-time 1,000-yard receiver and a key part of the offense, is a significant setback.
With Pittman sidelined, running back Jonathan Taylor and receiver Josh Downs will need to step up. Taylor has been strong, averaging 4.8 yards per carry, while Downs has become quarterback Joe Flacco’s favorite target in recent games.
Flacco will need to raise his game against the Bills’ tough defense, as his Week 9 performance against the Minnesota Vikings—179 passing yards, no touchdowns, and one interception—won’t cut it here.
This is a pivotal moment for the Colts, and missing Pittman makes their push for a much-needed win that much tougher.
