Padres manager raves over Pivetta’s strong performance
After the win, Padres manager Mike Shildt praised Pivetta’s performance on the mound, according to MLB.com’s AJ Cassavell:

“Welcome to San Diego, Nick Pivetta,” Shildt said. “He controlled the counts, had great life on his fastball, a fantastic curveball, and his sweeper was sharp. It was a really masterful outing from Nick.”
