The Dallas Cowboys have a 2-2 record in 2024 following their divisional win last week against the New York Giants. Star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb delivered his best performance of the season, racking up 98 yards on seven catches and scoring a touchdown.

However, Lamb was hit with a major penalty by the league today for several violations, leaving fans puzzled after a video of the incident surfaced.

Dallas Cowboys Star Receives Punishment

The NFL fined the star receiver $25,324 for two unsportsmanlike conduct violations during last week’s win, one of which involved taunting after his touchdown catch. There was no penalty called on the field at the time, which has left many fans puzzled about why he’s being penalized now.

In the video, Lamb can be seen running toward the end zone while glancing back at a Giants defender chasing him. While it appears he may have said something, it’s unclear if his words warranted a penalty.

By his standards, Lamb has had a slow start this season, totaling 316 receiving yards and two touchdowns in four games. He has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards each season of his career, except for his rookie year in 2020, when he fell just 65 yards short.

The league has issued several controversial fines for player behavior that doesn’t seem to impact the game, sparking frustration among players. Many have voiced their disagreement and have even appealed fines they felt were unfair.

Do you think Lamb deserved to be fined for taunting, or is the NFL being too strict with this punishment?
