The Dallas Cowboys return home for their Week 6 matchup against the Detroit Lions, riding a two-game winning streak and hoping to maintain their momentum.
While their offense has stayed mostly healthy apart from Brandin Cooks, who is recovering from a knee injury, the defense has faced a string of setbacks. The Cowboys are already missing key defenders like Micah Parsons, DeMarcus Lawrence, Marshawn Kneeland, and DaRon Bland. As Sunday’s game approaches, they’ll be down another defensive player.
More defensive losses in Dallas: Cowboys ruled out LB Eric Kendricks for Sunday’s game vs. the Lions due to a shoulder injury. Kendricks’ backup, Nick Vigil, is questionable with a foot injury.

Cowboys News: LB Eric Kendricks Has Been Ruled Out
According to Adam Schefter, linebacker Eric Kendricks has been ruled out for the Week 6 game against the Lions, and to make matters worse, his backup, Nick Vigil, is questionable due to a foot injury.

Kendricks, who joined the team this offseason, has already made a significant impact. In five games, the UCLA alum leads the team with 52 total tackles, including two tackles for loss, two sacks, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble.
His absence will be felt, especially in defending the run. The 32-year-old has recorded 10 or more tackles in the last three games, and with the Lions’ strong rushing attack featuring David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs, the Cowboys will miss his presence. Detroit ranks seventh in the NFL in rushing (151.3 yards per game), so losing a key veteran in the middle is a major challenge for Dallas.
This means DeMarvion Overshown will likely see more action on Sunday. Despite playing just five games, the Cowboys have dealt with numerous defensive injuries this season.
