JUST IN: Boston Red Sox’s Triston Casas Makes Stunning Statement on Red Sox Future After Been An Important Talking Point In Boston

The Boston Red Sox are actively shaping their roster this offseason. After focusing on bolstering their rotation and bullpen in the early months, the team made a significant move by signing Alex Bregman to a three-year, $120 million deal.

Bregman, who provides the impact right-handed bat the Red Sox sought, also creates some intriguing questions for manager Alex Cora. The most pressing issue is where Bregman will play. There’s speculation that he might shift to second base, which could lead to Rafael Devers moving to first. In such a scenario, Triston Casas could become a trade candidate.

Casas’ future with the team has been a major topic in Boston. After an impressive rookie year in 2023, Casas battled injuries throughout 2024 but finished strong. His potential and age have made him a frequent subject of trade rumors.

Triston Casas Wants to Remain in Boston “Forever”

Despite the ongoing rumors, Casas is firm in his desire to stay in Boston for the long haul. Speaking to WEEI, the 26-year-old expressed his intention to remain with the team “a long time.”

The Red Sox and Casas were unable to reach a contract extension last offseason, and he will become arbitration-eligible after the 2025 season.

It seems unlikely that an extension will be agreed upon in the near future. The direction of negotiations will largely depend on the type of season he has in Boston. His role and position, particularly after the Alex Bregman acquisition, will play a significant part in his performance.
