JUST IN: Boston Red Sox Sends Triston Casas To White Sox For Ace In 4-Player Blockbuster Trade Proposal

The Boston Red Sox are actively seeking to bolster their starting rotation this offseason, exploring both free agency and the trade market.

One name that has garnered significant interest is Chicago White Sox pitcher Garrett Crochet, who has become a hot commodity. Reports suggest that the White Sox have set a steep asking price for Crochet, with speculation continuing to swirl about potential trade packages.

For the Red Sox, who hold four highly regarded prospects they are reluctant to move, acquiring Crochet would likely require a substantial offer. According to Jim Bowden of The Athletic, a package including Triston Casas, Wilyer Abreu, and Connor Wong might bring the Red Sox close to a deal.

Bowden also suggested that Boston could then shuffle their roster by replacing Abreu with prospect Roman Anthony, slotting Kyle Teel in for Wong at catcher, moving Rafael Devers to first base, and signing either Alex Bregman or Willy Adames in free agency.

Casas, once the Red Sox’s top prospect and a fan favorite since his MLB debut in September 2022, has slashed .250/.357/.473 with an .830 OPS (125 OPS+) across 222 games. His poise, power, and vibrant personality have made him a standout, and trading him would likely spark debate among fans.

While the White Sox’s high demands for Crochet pose a challenge, the Red Sox may face tough decisions regarding their roster if they hope to land the promising pitcher without parting with one of their prized prospects.
