Auburn is securing its future center a year ahead of schedule, as He has announced he will reclassify from the class of 2026 to 2025 and plans to sign with the Tigers in December.
He didn’t want to wait another year—he’s ready to make his move now. On Saturday, the Cass (Ga.) standout announced he will be reclassifying from the 2026 to the 2025 recruiting cycle. He had originally committed to Auburn on November 30, 2023, and has remained firmly committed since.
“I’m just ready,” He said. “It’s that simple. Ready to be a Tiger.”
His, standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 285 pounds, was ranked in the 2026 cycle as the No. 291 player overall, No. 23 interior offensive lineman, and No. 31 player from Georgia according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. In the 247Sports rankings, he was listed as the No. 21 interior offensive lineman and No. 31 from Georgia. With his reclassification, He will receive a new ranking in the 2025 class.
He plans to take his official visit to Auburn for the Texas A&M game and is set to sign on December 4th. He’ll finish his studies at Cass High School this spring and enroll at Auburn next summer.
“Auburn, my family, and I all feel like this is the best place for me to achieve my goals,” He said. “Plus, with the 2025 linemen class and Deuce (Knight) coming in, I can’t wait to be his center! God has blessed me with this incredible opportunity, so why not come early, learn from the vets, and work hard to earn a spot? After discussing it with Coach (Jake) Thornton and Coach (Hugh) Freeze, this is the right decision.”
With His’ commitment, Auburn now has 26 players in its 2025 class, ranking No. 3 in the 247Sports team recruiting rankings. Ellis, recruited as a center, joins other top linemen in the class, including 4-star offensive tackles Tavaris Dice and Broderick Shull, along with 3-star linemen Jacobe Ward, Tai Buster, and Spencer Dowland. Auburn is also still pursuing 5-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola and 3-star offensive lineman Nelson McGuire, as Jake Thornton aims to stockpile young talent.

Ellis has been a regular presence on Auburn’s campus, visiting frequently, including participating in a private workout in June and attending every home game this fall. He’s eager to get started.
“Saying I’m excited is an understatement,” Ellis said. “I can’t wait to be part of Auburn’s culture and develop early. It’s a blessing from God, and being part of this elite 2025 class is something special. This class is DIFFERENT!”
Ellis’ reclassification bumps Auburn’s 2026 recruiting class down from No. 2 to No. 6 in the rankings, now standing with five commitments. Next season, current Auburn center Connor Lew will be a junior entering his third year as a starter. Ellis will have the chance to redshirt and develop behind him during his first season.
