Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. shared positive remarks about quarterback Anthony Richardson during Super Bowl week, highlighting the young signal-caller’s growth.

Speaking in New Orleans, Pittman noted that Richardson appeared to mature following his brief midseason benching, which came after an unexpected in-game exit during Week 8 against the Houston Texans.

The decision drew widespread criticism from NFL analysts, but Richardson took the experience as a learning opportunity. He responded by showing greater commitment, professionalism, and accountability, both on and off the field, which ultimately led to his reinstatement as the Colts’ starting quarterback.

Despite high expectations, Pittman and Richardson didn’t establish as strong of a connection as anticipated in 2023.

Pittman’s receiving numbers took a hit due to an undisclosed fractured back injury, finishing the season with 69 catches for 808 yards and three touchdowns over 16 games (14 starts). Richardson, meanwhile, was limited to 11 starts due to injuries and his temporary benching.

Looking ahead to 2025, the duo aims to build better chemistry and stay healthy, hoping for a much more productive season together.
