Despite facing some challenges, Alabama is making a strong push to add two more 5-star recruits to its 2025 class. Currently, Alabama’s recruiting class ranks second in the nation, boasting four 5-star commits.
These 5-star recruits include quarterback Keelon Russell, offensive tackle Ty Haywood, cornerback Dijon Lee, and wide receiver Caleb Cunningham. These are key positions where Alabama aims to build depth, and the team may have a chance to secure another 5-star wide receiver today.

Kaliq Lockett, ranked as the third-best wide receiver in the 2025 class and a top-20 player nationally, is a Texas native who would complement Cunningham and Lotzeir Brooks well. He could become a primary target for Keelon Russell in the future.
Lockett is choosing between Texas, Alabama, LSU, Florida State, and Texas A&M, with his decision set to be announced at 12 noon (CT) on Wednesday, August 7th. Although Texas has been the frontrunner, Alabama has made significant efforts, keeping the recruitment competitive.

While Alabama remains a long shot to secure Lockett, the program appears to be the second choice and will likely continue recruiting him until Signing Day.
Alabama is also focused on landing 5-star defensive lineman Justus Terry, one of the top prospects in the 2025 class. Although Georgia has been the favorite throughout most of his recruitment, Terry recently announced that he won’t make a decision until Signing Day.
While Georgia remains the team to beat, Alabama has positioned itself well, with Terry having visited Tuscaloosa several times and receiving strong recruitment efforts from both coaches and players.
Currently, Alabama’s defensive line class includes 3-star London Simmons and JUCO player Steve Mboumoua, both of whom are promising developmental prospects. Though these players are considered long-term projects with significant potential, Alabama needs to add another defensive lineman, ideally an immediate impact player like Justus Terry. Georgia will be a tough competitor, but Alabama benefits from Terry’s decision to take his time with the process.
