Hugh Freeze and the Auburn Tigers might be flying a bit under the radar as the spotlight is on Texas and Oklahoma joining the SEC, and as Alabama and Georgia battle for dominance at the top.
During the offseason, Freeze has been relentless in recruiting both transfer players and prospects, strengthening Auburn on both sides of the ball.
According to 247Sports, Auburn’s 2024 recruiting class is ranked 10th nationally, featuring one five-star, 14 four-star, and five three-star prospects.

From the transfer portal, Auburn’s 2024 class is ranked 27th nationally, boasting two four-star and an impressive 13 three-star transfers.
Last season, the Tigers fell short of expectations despite close contests against top-ranked Georgia and perennial powerhouse Alabama. Auburn ended the season with a 6-7 record, including a loss to Maryland in the Music City Bowl.

As Freeze and his team continue their push for success, Auburn deserves more recognition.
Although the Tigers didn’t crack the preseason AP Top 25, they did receive two votes—one more than Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes.

Looking ahead, Auburn faces a challenging road schedule in 2024, including trips to Missouri and Kentucky, but they’ll also host Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Arkansas at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
If Auburn can secure victories over Missouri, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Arkansas, fans could witness the Tigers’ best season in over a decade.
The Tigers will begin their season with five consecutive home games, which could provide them with an early advantage over their opponents.
Auburn football schedule 2024
- vs. Alabama A&M – Aug. 31
- vs. California – Sept. 7
- vs. New Mexico – Sept. 14
- vs. Arkansas – Sept. 21
- vs. Oklahoma – Sept. 28
- at Georgia – Oct. 5
- at Missouri – Oct. 19
- at Kentucky – Oct. 26
- vs. Vanderbilt – Nov. 2
- vs. Lousiana-Monroe – Nov. 16
- vs. Texas A&M – Nov. 23
- at Alabama – Nov. 30
Assuming Auburn loses to Alabama and Georgia, who are currently among the top three teams in the SEC, and also loses to Missouri on the road, the Tigers still have a strong chance of finishing their 2024 regular season with a 9-3 record.
