Alabama football has announced more details about Saturday’s ceremonies honoring Nick Saban at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The field at the stadium, where Saban coached for 17 seasons, will be renamed Saban Field.

The first part of the ceremony will take place at the Walk of Champions outside the stadium around 2:30 p.m. CT. Saban will speak, along with athletics director Greg Byrne and UA president Stuart Bell, before the new stadium signage is revealed.

Following the unveiling, Saban and his family will enter the stadium for a second ceremony, which will take place at halftime after the Million Dollar Band’s performance. Saban will be honored on the field.

“It’s gonna be an awesome night, having the field named in honor of coach,” said Saban’s successor, Kalen DeBoer. “That’s really something special. It’s one of those moments where you know what’s happening but can’t fully participate because we’re in the middle of our pregame meal and other preparations.

“But to have that honor for coach Saban, recognizing everything he’s done here, means a lot. We have great respect for him and will continue to protect our field just like it was during his 17 years here.”

Alabama will face South Florida on Saturday, following a 63-0 victory over Western Kentucky in their first game without Saban. The game is set to kick off at 6:00 p.m. CT on ESPN.
