Former Alabama defensive lineman Braylen Ingraham has suffered an Achilles tear, which Syracuse coach Fran Brown suggested might be career-ending during a Monday press conference.
Ingraham, who transferred to Syracuse for the 2023 season, will no longer be playing for the team. Coach Brown stated, “He will not be playing at Syracuse anymore. He will get surgery. He’ll work with us. We’ll get him involved with us. He wants to pursue project management, so we’ve already begun helping him find a job after this season.”

Brown also mentioned that he hopes to bring Ingraham into coaching.
Ingraham played for Alabama in 2019 and 2020, appearing in two games each season. He saw action against Ole Miss and Western Carolina in 2019 and against Mississippi State and Kentucky in 2020.
He didn’t play during the following two seasons and medically retired from Alabama before graduating and deciding to transfer to Syracuse.
Ingraham took on a larger role with the Orange, playing in every game as a redshirt junior in 2023. He recorded 16 tackles, three tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, and two pass breakups.
In high school, Ingraham was a four-star prospect at St. Thomas Aquinas.
