The Tennessee Volunteers capped off a strong 2024–25 season by locking in a No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region and powering their way to the Elite Eight. Their tournament run ended with a tough 69–50 loss to a red-hot Houston Cougars team, but the future in Knoxville is looking bright.

On the recruiting front, the Vols just landed 6-foot-5 French guard Clarence Massamba, who’s been turning heads with AS Monaco’s U21 team. He’s averaging 11.4 points, 3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.4 steals in 24.2 minutes per game, shooting nearly 46% from the field.
Massamba previously played at The Rock School in Gainesville, Florida, where major programs like Duke and Kansas took notice before he committed to Tennessee.

He joins another big-time pickup—Ja’Kobi Gillespie, a guard transferring in from Maryland after averaging 14.7 points and 4.8 assists last season. Rick Barnes and his staff are clearly stacking talent, and the Vols look ready to reload for another deep run in 2025–26.
