The Pittsburgh Steelers have bolstered their tight end depth by signing veteran. to a one-year deal, per Ian Rapoport. The team announced the signing on Friday, bringing the former Los Angeles Chargers player to Pittsburgh. He spent four seasons with the Chargers, recording 67 receptions for 764 yards and 11 touchdowns in 47 games. Standing at 6-foot-8, he was a notable red zone threat in Los Angeles.

In 2024, Parham was part of the Denver Broncos’ practice squad but did not appear in any games. Now, he looks to rejuvenate his career with the Steelers.

However, Pittsburgh already has three tight ends under contract for 2025, including Pat Freiermuth, who ranked second on the team in receiving last season and is expected to remain a key part of the offense.

Third-year tight end Darnell Washington provides a strong physical presence and another weapon in the passing game, while veteran Connor Heyward remains in the mix, creating a crowded position group.

Last season, the Steelers carried four tight ends, including veteran MyCole Pruitt, who is now a free agent. By signing Parham, Pittsburgh is opting for a younger alternative while maintaining depth and competition at the position.

With Freiermuth and Washington set to take on significant roles in 2025, Parham faces stiff competition for playing time. His size and red zone ability could make him a valuable asset, particularly in short-yardage and goal-line situations. However, he will need to impress in training camp to secure a roster spot.

As the Steelers continue shaping their offense, the tight end battle will be one to watch, and Parham’s arrival adds another layer of intrigue heading into the 2025 season.
