DONE DEAL: “Quality Long-Term Additions” New York Giants Make Major Draft Trade

The New York Giants are approaching the 2025 NFL Draft with several possible options. Holding the No. 3 overall pick, they could select Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter, or Shedeur Sanders.

Not long ago, Sanders was the name most often linked to the Giants, but that buzz has quieted recently.

Now, it appears the team is leaning more toward taking either Hunter or Carter. All three players would be strong long-term assets for the franchise, so there’s really no bad choice among them.

However, ESPN NFL insider Jordan Reid has proposed a new scenario.

Browns expected to select Travis Hunter in 2025 NFL draft

Reid suggests that instead of drafting a quarterback at No. 3, the Giants might use that pick on the best player available, then look to trade back into the first round to grab a QB.

In a recent ESPN column, Reid explained, “With the additions of Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston this offseason, the Giants have the flexibility to go with the top player on their board at No. 3, and potentially move back into the first round to target a quarterback.”

Who might they target with that second move? There’s speculation that Shedeur Sanders could fall into the 20s. If that happens, the Giants trading up for him would make a lot of sense.

Another rising prospect is Jaxson Dart, whose stock has been climbing leading up to the draft.

No matter what route they take, the Giants will be a team to keep an eye on. If Reid’s scenario plays out, they could walk away from the first round with two top-tier rookies.
