After nearly six years with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted rookie, wide receiver was signed to an active roster for the first time on Saturday afternoon by the Las Vegas Raiders.
Bachman, who refers to himself as the longest-serving practice squad player in NFL history, has appeared in three games for the AFC West team, recording three catches for 36 yards last week, which led to his permanent spot.
“Six years of hard work, pain, and patience,” Bachman wrote on X following the Raiders’ roster announcement. “Longest Tenured Psquad player of all time and I’m proud of that. Just keep grinding. Stay relentless. Thank you, Father.”

Bachman’s journey as an underdog started at Oaks Christian High School in the Los Angeles area, where he had only one receiving touchdown while playing alongside future NFL receiver Michael Pittman Jr. Standing at 5’11” and 170 pounds with limited high-school stats, Bachman earned a two-star rating from 247Sports and drew interest as a safety before committing to Wake Forest in 2015.
At Wake Forest, he contributed immediately on special teams as a freshman and had a single catch for eight yards. By his second year, Bachman secured a consistent role in the team’s receiving corps during one of the best periods in Wake Forest football history. As a senior, he recorded 541 yards and six touchdowns, helping the team to a 7-6 record in 2018, marking their third straight winning season, a feat not achieved since 1952.

Despite his efforts, Bachman went undrafted due to his size and average metrics, returning to Southern California to compete for a spot with the Rams. However, the Rams waived him before the 2019 season, and he later bounced between the Texans and Giants before landing in Las Vegas this offseason.
Throughout his practice squad tenure, Bachman has had a few notable moments, including an 11-catch, 122-yard performance in a 2022 preseason game against Cincinnati. He also played in three regular-season games for the Giants in 2020 and 2021, making a special teams tackle but not registering any receptions. This season, Bachman has appeared in the last three games for the Raiders, achieving his first career receptions in a three-catch game against Pittsburgh last week.
