Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stirred controversy by threatening to have two Dallas-area radio hosts fired after a tense interview following his team’s 3-3 start.

During an appearance on 105.3 The Fan’s “Shan and RJ,” Jones faced questions about the team’s lack of moves in the offseason and failure to improve the roster despite losing key players like Tony Pollard, Tyron Smith, Tyler Biadasz, Dorance Armstrong, and Stephon Gilmore.

Instead of addressing the concerns, Jones became defensive, increasingly hostile, and even suggested he could have the hosts removed from their positions.

Shan Shariff, one of the hosts, expressed his frustration the following day, calling Jones’ behavior “insulting” and “demeaning” after years of interviews.

His co-host RJ Choppy echoed the sentiment, stating, “I didn’t get upset, but it felt like, ‘You know what? Screw you, man.’” Shariff clarified that, despite their show airing on the Cowboys’ flagship station, they are paid by Audacy, not Jones, refuting the owner’s claim that he pays their salaries.

Jones reportedly felt that since he believed he was paying the hosts, their line of questioning was inappropriate. He later remarked to The Athletic that if real fans or knowledgeable football insiders had been asking the questions, his response might have been different.
