The Georgia Bulldogs face a critical matchup against the Tennessee Volunteers this weekend, as a loss would likely eliminate them from college football playoff contention. With two losses already this season, Georgia’s playoff hopes are on thin ice, while Tennessee enters the game with just one defeat.
Key injuries could play a major role, with Volunteers quarterback Nico Iamaleava sidelined and Bulldogs running back Trevor Etienne potentially unavailable. These setbacks could significantly impact the outcome of this pivotal game.
Georgia Bulldogs Running Back Trevor Etienne Ruled Out For the Tennessee Volunteers Game
Trevor Etienne was listed on the SEC injury report Thursday night, ruling him out for Saturday’s pivotal matchup against the Tennessee Volunteers. Etienne has been a cornerstone of Georgia’s offense this season.

In last week’s 28-10 loss to Ole Miss, Etienne managed only 24 rushing yards on six carries, averaging 4.0 yards per attempt with no touchdowns. For the season, he has totaled 477 rushing yards on 95 carries with seven touchdowns, averaging 5.0 yards per carry. Additionally, he’s contributed 23 receptions for 140 yards, averaging 6.1 yards per catch, though he has yet to score a receiving touchdown.
The Bulldogs will face a tough challenge against Tennessee’s stout defense without Etienne. Much of the pressure will now fall on quarterback Carson Beck, who has struggled in games against top-tier opponents this season. If Beck falters on Saturday night, Georgia could face another loss, jeopardizing their playoff hopes.
