The Los Angeles Rams may have found a gem in the 2023 NFL Draft with fifth-round pick Puka Nacua, who set rookie single-season records for receptions (105) and receiving yards (1,486) last year. Nacua was also a Pro Bowler, earned second-team All-Pro honors, and was a runner-up for the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year aw
Saints sign WR Samson Nacua. He is Puka’s older brother. Originally signed by the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent following the 2022 NFL Draft and competed in their training camp.

With injuries affecting their wide receiver group, the New Orleans Saints are now looking to Puka’s older brother, Samson Nacua, to add depth.

Samson, who played four seasons at the University of Utah (2017-2020) and recorded 82 receptions for 1,015 yards and 11 touchdowns, transferred to Brigham Young University in 2021, the same year Puka moved there from the University of Washington. At BYU, Samson had 21 catches for 329 yards and three touchdowns, while Puka led the team in receiving yards (805) and tied for the most touchdown receptions (six).
Samson, 26, has yet to play in the NFL and last played for the Michigan Panthers in the United Football League. Another brother, Kai Nacua, a former BYU player, has played as a safety for the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, and New York Jets.
The Saints are dealing with injuries to wide receivers Bub Means, Cedrick Wilson, and Equanimeous St. Brown, and star Chris Olave also left practice early due to a hip issue.
