BREAKING: Rams $23.5 million QB Trade To Raiders Is Closed

It’s a great time to be a Las Vegas Raiders fan. No team had a more impressive win in Week 2 than the Raiders, who went into Baltimore and made a statement despite being 10-point underdogs. Although every NFL season has its share of surprising September games, the Raiders showed they may not be the best team in the AFC West, but they’re definitely not the worst.

Their potential still hinges on how far Gardner Minshew can take them, and we’ve seen his limits. Securing a true QB1 will likely be a priority for Tom Telesco and Antonio Pierce in the offseason. But what if I told you they didn’t have to wait? What if they could trade for a quarterback this season and make a serious run at the Super Bowl? Sounds intriguing, right?

Mina Kimes certainly thinks so. She was on *NFL Live* yesterday discussing the Rams and Matthew Stafford’s current situation. With three of the Raiders’ starting linemen and their top two receivers on injured reserve, and the Rams’ season looking bleak, the *NFL Live* crew started to consider trading Stafford. That’s when Kimes pitched what might be the best idea ever on *NFL Live*—or maybe in ESPN’s entire history.

Matt Stafford and the Raiders make all the sense in the world

“If the Rams were to make that decision, what teams would be in the mix?” Kimes speculated. “I’ve got one in mind: the Raiders. After watching them these first two weeks, they’ve shown they have a solid defense, and Davante Adams remains one of the top receivers in the league. Brock Bowers looks like a real playmaker. Just putting that out there.”

Matthew Stafford, Rams to hammer out extension after Super Bowl LVI

Absolutely! That idea makes perfect sense. Sorry, Gardner Minshew, but you’re no Matt Stafford—that’s just how things are. While I don’t see the Rams trading Stafford just because their first two weeks were rough, if it does happen, it could be Tom Telesco’s big opportunity. No amount of ‘Minshew Magic’ can compare to the chance of landing a truly talented quarterback. Now, we just need Kimes to keep hammering this point on NFL Live until it becomes reality.
