
Following a standout season in San Diego, free-agent catcher has agreed to a two-year deal with the Rangers.
Kyle Higashioka, who made a significant impact as the San Diego Padres’ catcher last season, is heading to Texas.
On Monday, the 35-year-old catcher concluded his one-year stint with the Padres by signing a free-agent deal with the Rangers.
Higashioka enjoyed a standout season with the Padres, smashing 17 home runs and posting a .476 slugging percentage. He also delivered in clutch moments during the postseason, hitting home runs in both Wild Card games against the Atlanta Braves and another in the Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

As reported by MLB.com, Higashioka agreed to a two-year contract with a mutual option for the 2027 season.
