The San Francisco Giants have traded left-handed reliever to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for minor league pitcher Braxton Roxby, according to multiple reports. As part of the deal, the Giants will cover half of His $12 million salary for the 2025 season.
In a related move, the Reds designated pitcher Owen White for assignment to clear space for Him on their 40-man roster. White had been acquired from the Texas Rangers earlier this month.
He joined the Giants before the 2023 season on a three-year, $31 million contract, reuniting him with his twin brother, Tyler Rogers. He began his career with the Minnesota Twins, serving as a key bullpen arm and closing games for them in 2019 and 2020.

Ahead of the 2022 season, the Twins traded Rogers to the San Diego Padres in a deal that sent Chris Paddack to Minnesota and Brent Rooker to San Diego. Later that season, the Padres included Rogers in the trade package to Milwaukee that landed them closer Josh Hader.
In 2024, Rogers posted a strong 2.40 ERA over 60 innings, though his 3.75 FIP and career-low strikeout rate (below 10 K/9 for the first time since 2018) raised some concerns.
