BREAKING NEWS: Understand Broncos Latest Retooling Priority Land Support For Bo Nix

The Denver Broncos’ offseason focus has been on surrounding second-year quarterback Bo Nix with more talent. One major move was acquiring the “joker” that head coach Sean Payton had been seeking in tight end Evan Engram.

The next key position to upgrade is running back, and Fox Sports’ David Helman predicts that the Broncos will make a big move in the NFL Draft.

He has Denver trading up from the 20th pick to the 13th to select Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. Jeanty, a 2024 Heisman Trophy finalist, had a historic season that rivaled Barry Sanders’ all-time rushing record.

A trade to land Jeanty would send a strong message about Denver’s commitment to adding talent for Nix. Jeanty would step in as the starting running back, replacing Javonte Williams, who signed with the Dallas Cowboys.

In the competitive AFC West, offense is key, and being able to match up with the high-scoring attacks of Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert is no easy feat. Continuing to bolster the offense is essential, and Denver will likely target a starting running back in the draft. Whether it’s Jeanty, Omarion Hampton, or another option, the Broncos are expected to leave the draft with their 2025 starting back. If they land Jeanty, they could be in a strong position to win their first division title since 2015.
