The Montreal Canadiens made their first round of roster cuts after Saturday’s chaotic game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. This reduced the training camp roster from 59 players to 32.
On Sunday, the team made two additional cuts, placing forwards on waivers with plans to reassign them to their AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket.
He, 26, had a challenging camp, including a moment when he jumped on enforcer Nicolas Deslauriers without hesitation, though Deslauriers chose not to respond. His bold reaction came after Deslauriers delivered a heavy hit on defensive prospect Adam Engstrom, which likely earned His respect among his teammates.
He, who is expected to be one of Laval’s top offensive players again this season, led the team in scoring last year with 19 goals and 36 assists in 55 games.

Despite spending some time in the NHL, his presence will be crucial, especially as the Rocket integrate younger prospects. His leadership will be an asset to new head coach Pascal Vincent as Laval’s training camp opens on Tuesday.
Nicolas Deslauriers realized he's in another weight class and didn't engage with Condotta.
