Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and his agent are exploring the market to gauge his value, while the Rams must decide whether to offer him a competitive salary to stay or trade him to free up cap space and gain draft assets.
Head coach Sean McVay made it clear this week that he wants Stafford to remain the team’s leader.
“There’s no doubt in my mind who I want to be our quarterback,” McVay said on the Fitz & Whit podcast. “Now, how we get to that, because these decisions aren’t made in a vacuum, that’s the challenging thing.”

While McVay’s stance is firm, the financial and roster-building implications will ultimately shape the Rams’ decision on Stafford’s future.
