He believed this went against the offseason promise that he would only serve as the designated hitter. Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report listed the Chicago Cubs among the leading teams that could pursue Devers in a trade. With Kyle Tucker potentially heading into free agency, the Cubs might look to make a major move to strengthen their lineup and encourage Tucker to stay.
