The Green Bay Packers still have a significant gap to fill before the 2025 NFL season begins in September.
During Super Bowl LIX, the Philadelphia Eagles showcased the impact of relentless quarterback pressure, yet the Packers have yet to make any major moves to bolster their pass rush in the early weeks of free agency.
However, Green Bay may be in a prime position to execute a blockbuster trade for one of the most sought-after pass rushers on the market this offseason.

Could the Green Bay Packers Trade for Trey Hendrickson?
After committing over $275 million to wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, the Cincinnati Bengals may find themselves needing to move on from Trey Hendrickson amid an expensive offseason.
Hendrickson requested a trade earlier this offseason, and the Green Bay Packers could be a prime destination for a blockbuster deal.
Ian Valentino of The 33rd Team proposes that the Packers could land Hendrickson in exchange for the No. 23 and No. 159 picks in this year’s draft, along with a second-round pick in 2026.
“The Packers are an ideal landing spot for a top-tier defensive star,” Valentino writes. “This is a young roster with minimal needs, so parting with two picks in this class won’t hurt. They’ve also managed their cap well, giving them the flexibility to absorb a major pass-rusher contract.

“Hendrickson, a four-time Pro Bowler and recent All-Pro, is still playing at an elite level. While Rashan Gary provides a strong presence, the Packers rely too much on rotational players and schematic pressure. Adding Hendrickson immediately strengthens the unit and provides long-term stability as Gary eventually ages out of his prime.”
Hendrickson would be an instant game-changer for Green Bay’s front seven, potentially reshaping Jeff Hafley’s defense, which emphasizes strong safety play.
With 77 career sacks and back-to-back 17.5-sack seasons, Hendrickson is among the NFL’s most dominant pass rushers. According to Pro Football Focus, he led the league with 83 quarterback pressures and ranked as the eighth-best pass rusher overall.
Acquiring Hendrickson would be a major boost for Green Bay in a division featuring the high-powered Detroit Lions offense and a conference where teams like Jalen Hurts’ Philadelphia Eagles stand in the way of a Super Bowl run.
Whether the Packers can finalize a deal remains uncertain, but if the price is three draft picks over two years, it’s a move that GM Brian Gutekunst should strongly consider.
