A new report confirms that a former Toronto Maple Leafs goalie prospect has joined their rival, the Montreal Canadiens.
According to a post on X by the Laval Rocket, the AHL affiliate of the Canadiens, goaltender Luke Cavallin has signed a two-way AHL contract with the Rocket.

Cavallin joins Laval after spending the 2023-24 season with the Toronto Maple Leafs organization, where he appeared in nine games with the Toronto Marlies and 24 games in the ECHL with the Newfoundland Growlers.
Due to the Leafs’ deep pool of goaltending prospects, including Dennis Hildeby, Artur Akhtyamov, and Vyacheslav Peska, there was little room for Cavallin to advance. Now, with the Canadiens and Rocket, he has a chance to earn AHL playing time.
As the AHL season kicks off, it will be interesting to see if Cavallin gets an opportunity to face his former team, the Marlies, and potentially seek some revenge against the organization.
