The MLB offseason is set to heat up soon, and the Milwaukee Brewers will be a team to keep an eye on as it unfolds.
In 2024, the Brewers comfortably secured the National League Central title, but their playoff run was short-lived, highlighting that they remain a step away from true World Series contention.
To bridge that gap, Milwaukee will need to make key moves during the offseason. Fortunately, they have several potential paths to explore in their pursuit of improvement.
Milwaukee Brewers Urged to Pursue Bold Trade with Baltimore Orioles
One possible strategy for the Milwaukee Brewers would be exploring the trade market to strengthen their roster. Specifically, Fox Sports’ Deesha Thosar has identified third base as a position of need for the Brewers and suggests they consider pursuing Baltimore Orioles prospect Coby Mayo in a trade.

Thosar notes that offering a star pitcher like Devin Williams to teams in need of bullpen help could yield a significant return. Mayo, a highly talented 22-year-old prospect, could be an excellent target. Despite his potential, he faces limited opportunities in Baltimore due to their crowded infield situation.
In 2024, Mayo appeared in only 17 MLB games for the Orioles but thrived in the minors. Over 93 minor league games, he hit 25 home runs, drove in 73 RBIs, and posted an impressive .293/.372/.592 slash line. If he can replicate that production at the Major League level, he could be a game-changer for Milwaukee and a cornerstone player for their future.
The big question remains whether the Orioles would be open to trading Mayo. If they are, the Brewers should strongly consider making a move to acquire him.
