The Seattle Mariners have reportedly been exploring trade options for their ace, this offseason.
With a significant amount remaining on his contract, He could bring back a solid return in a potential trade. Several teams would likely be interested in acquiring the right-hander.
Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report recently predicted that the Mariners might deal Him to the Baltimore Orioles before the end of the 2025 season.
“Both could be on the move this summer if the Mariners are comfortable relying on Emerson Hancock or if they reach a point where they need to take drastic steps to improve their lineup,” Miller wrote. *”And the Baltimore Orioles would almost certainly be interested.

Not only is Baltimore’s current rotation possibly the weakest among World Series contenders, but with Zach Eflin, Charlie Morton, and Tomoyuki Sugano only under contract through this season, they will be in the market for at least one quality starter next offseason.”*
The Orioles have a pressing need to bolster their starting rotation. After losing Corbin Burnes last season, they have yet to find a suitable replacement this winter. With high-caliber pitchers like Castillo available, it’s hard to imagine Baltimore not making a move for an ace.
A potential deal between the Orioles and Mariners could involve Baltimore sending major league position players to Seattle in exchange for Castillo—an arrangement that could benefit both teams.
