The University of Louisville football program is undergoing notable roster transitions this spring, as two highly regarded young athletes—defensive lineman Saadiq Clements and wide receiver JoJo Stone—have officially entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Saadiq Clements, a 6-foot-5, 260-pound lineman from Henderson County High School in Kentucky, distinguished himself at the high school level, earning Defensive Player of the Year honors and recording a state-leading 21 sacks during his senior season. Clements committed to Louisville despite receiving offers from prominent programs such as Purdue, Indiana, Florida State, Kentucky, and Michigan.

JoJo Stone, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound wide receiver from Fairburn, Georgia, was the top-ranked prospect in Louisville’s 2024 recruiting class. Initially committed to LSU, Stone ultimately chose Louisville, citing deep family ties to the city and a long-standing relationship with the coaching staff.
Both Clements and Stone were early enrollees and participated in spring practices, making their decisions to transfer particularly consequential as the team prepares for the upcoming season.

Looking Ahead
The departures of Clements and Stone create openings within the roster, providing opportunities for other athletes to step into more prominent roles. Head coach Jeff Brohm and his staff are expected to address these vacancies through the transfer portal as well as incoming recruiting classes. As the Cardinals continue to restructure their roster, maintaining depth and adaptability will be essential to remaining competitive in the forthcoming season.
