Months ahead of their rivalry renewing on the court, Indiana and Kentucky’s men’s basketball teams are already in a competitive battle—this time on the recruiting trail.

Lamar Wilkerson, a highly sought-after transfer guard, is down to choosing between the Hoosiers and the Wildcats after visiting both Bloomington and Lexington over the weekend, according to KSR.

Originally scheduled to visit Auburn this week, Wilkerson has now canceled that trip. The sharpshooting guard averaged 20.5 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game last season, hitting 44.5% of his shots from beyond the arc. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Indiana, under new head coach Darian DeVries, is still shaping its roster, while Kentucky is aiming to build on a Sweet Sixteen run in Mark Pope’s first season at the helm.

At Indiana, Wilkerson would likely step into a prominent role with significant playing time. At Kentucky, he’d join a deeper talent pool as Pope looks to elevate the program even further in year two.
