Kentucky remains in the chase for one of the top juniors in the country.
Anthony Thompson, a 5-star forward from Hudson (Ohio) Western Reserve and the No. 9 overall prospect in the 2026 class per 247Sports, revealed his top 15 schools on Friday. His list includes Auburn, BYU, Georgetown, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Purdue, Texas, and Xavier.
UK head coach Mark Pope and assistant Cody Fueger visited Thompson at his home on Tuesday. Thompson has already made two unofficial trips to Lexington — first attending Big Blue Madness in October, where he received a scholarship offer from Pope, and again in January, when he watched then-No. 10 Kentucky beat then-undefeated and eventual national champion Florida 106-100 at Rupp Arena.
The 6-foot-8, 185-pound wing impressed earlier this month at the USA Basketball minicamp during the Final Four in San Antonio, according to 247Sports National Basketball Director Eric Bossi.

“Whenever Anthony Thompson is on the floor, it’s tough to find a cleaner-looking jump shot,” Bossi wrote. “The lefty was knocking down shots as usual, and he’s starting to fill out his 6-foot-7 frame. Now weighing just under 200 pounds, he’s learning to leverage his added strength, and with his skill set, size, and nearly 7-foot-3 wingspan, it’s clear why he ranks among the nation’s top juniors.”
Thompson is one of just 10 players in the 2026 class to hold a scholarship offer from Kentucky. He competes with Indiana Elite on the adidas 3SSB circuit.
