The Colts have made several roster changes in preparation for their Week 2 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
The Indianapolis Colts announced today that they have promoted defensive end Genard Avery and safety Ronnie Harrison Jr. from the practice squad to the active 53-man roster for Sunday’s Week 2 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

Avery joined the Colts’ practice squad in late August after initially signing as a free agent with the team in June 2023. He was placed on injured reserve in August but is now being elevated to provide depth at defensive end.
His promotion allows Tyquan Lewis and Dayo Odeyingbo more flexibility along the defensive line, though it raises concerns about Kwity Paye’s availability, as he’s been dealing with a hamstring injury and has missed two practices, leaving his status for Sunday questionable.

Safety Ronnie Harrison, who rejoined the team this week after participating in training camp, was initially signed as a free agent in August 2023. With Julian Blackmon ruled out, Harrison is expected to start alongside Nick Cross. In this scenario, Harrison would likely take the strong safety role, while Cross shifts to free safety.
